One of the biggest “benchmark” figures that most people quote when trying to make a full time living from home is $4000 per month. Roughly one thousand dollars per month. Most people seem to think, especially those JUST getting started, that this sort of consistently earned income would give them the comfort to quit their day job and commit to creating an online blogging empire of their very own.

I’m going to give you the absolute EASIEST way to do it, and while it does take a little bit of work to get started, it’s pretty simple to support (and scale UP) once you have.

Filed Under: Sell More Stuff From Your Blog (and start right now)

The best way to begin? Unless you have a hardcore “passion” for something you really want to offer, service wise, yourself….affiliate marketing is the best place to begin. But listen up: You’ve got to be smart, and you’ve got to be savvy, and you have to go the OPPOSITE direction of most of the silly advice that you’ll see out there in wild.

When it comes to affiliate marketing, your earnings WILL be predicated on the programs you pick. Your OFFER is often completely related to your outcome.

The easiest way to sell more stuff, without working ONE lick harder is to pick better offers. For example, there are plenty of affiliate offers that convert really, really well that pay $75 and up per sale. Some on CPA style sign up’s as well. (which have better conversion rates as a general rule, often 8-10%) If you make one sale per day, on a $100 dollar payout, on ONE affiliate blog, you are already almost hitting your target of $4000 per month. You simply need another 30 bucks a day, and you’re there.

So just do this: Write articles like this one. Drive ALL of the readers to your blog, where you have content created around one HYPER specific product or offer. Pick the product properly, look for high converting, high EPC offers that are already selling well. (the biggest mistake people make is looking for “micro-niches” – don’t do it, find stuff converting already in BIG markets) Use lots of off site strategies like article marketing, press release submissions, social strategies and you will SHOCK yourself at how easy it really IS, to make a full time living from your blog (and FAST!).

Why Create a Corporate Blog? 2 Ways That a Corporate Blog Will Explode Your Income & Your Brand

February 28, 2010 by I. R. Hollander

Reading time: 2 – 4 minutes

Who else is thinking about starting a corporate blog? If you are anything like many of my high falutin friends in big business or professional services like law or medicine, the thought of starting a blog to attract clients, patients or customers seems a little bit silly, doesn’t it? If you said YES to that, the chances are you are not too plugged in to the content creation (and distribution) revolution that’s taking place online right now…and the bad news is that it will most likely leave you far behind, and fast!

Why do I say this? I think you probably already know, but many of the younger, more aggressive professionals are coming straight to the market with a firmer grip on technology as a driver for their business building efforts, and many of the “old boys club” are simply suffering as a consequence.

With this in mind, let’s look at 2 simple ways that a corporate blog can build BACK your brand and even more importantly, allow you connect with your clients and customers in a dramatic fashion.

- The online marketplace is exceedingly transparent, and very vocal. What does this mean? People have opinions, and are NOT afraid to share them online. Many of the folks who may think twice about complaining to your front desk, or calling you directly, will have no trouble venting on a social networking site, a blog, web site or local search marketplace results. By starting and maintaining a blog, you are not only giving yourself a voice, you are also giving folks a chance to “connect” with you personally, and often, we’ve found our clients who do this, will get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to customer complaints.

Why? People will comment on YOUR blog first, or contact you before going public with their complaints. Of course a blog also allows you to share your ethos, your USP, your strengths and even your weaknesses if you’re so inclined to share them. (which can actually help people connect with you even more!)

- Search Engine rankings: Plain and simple, blogs are incredible search engine magnets. They’ll rank well for highly targeted, and highly coveted keywords that you NEED to own for your market, and if you keep them updated somewhat regularly, you’ll get so much FREE traffic, that you’ll probably find advertising is no longer necessary! (Don’t laugh…many professionals do SO well with blog marketing, that they simply stop paying for advertising altogether)

RSS and Web 2.0

The World Wide Web is getting a make over. Finally after a long time we’re experiencing an online revolution that’s worth talking about. Yes, it’s got a new look, new feel and a cooler extension, the Web 2.0 is here. Microsoft’s taking it very seriously, while Yahoo! can’t stop raving about it. So what is web 2.0 and what has RSS got to do with it?

Web 2.0 is nothing but a newer, faster and a much easier web. The goal is simple, the resurrected version of the web will make the information more personalized, centralized and monetized. And RSS is a major player and contributor to this new beginning.

RSS – The Crucial Element

RSS is still not a very familiar technology and not a household word yet. However, it’s already very obvious and extremely clear what role RSS will be playing in the future of the Internet. It’s understood that RSS will be an important component in the success of Web 2.0. As it will help in enabling and helping companies give out software as a service. It will not only prove to be a system that gives daily notifications a new meaning, but also gel the many important parts and services of Web 2.0 together, in order to churn out better and easier solutions.

Businesses, which can take advantage of RSS will flourish and reap the rewards it has to offer. RSS is making the Internet audience self-reliant. It is enabling users with self-service without you being the central control. By giving the control to the users, the information gets well organized and it creates a smooth platform for you to give out more useful info.

Connecting the Web

The web has become a sprawling network of different services. RSS is helping the web connect these services in an organized fashion in the new Web 2.0. In the coming few years, RSS will definitely be seen on every website and blog. Any service without RSS would lag behind.

Using RSS, search engines are giving out search results on specific keywords connecting the users with the information they can use. Websites are re-syndicating content from other websites, as the new fad of displaying RSS feeds catches up. Various kinds of mash ups are coming up and unique services are being started out of thin air. New services are able to deliver the freshest news available to their users right on time, as it happens. Truly helping a common man know now, using nothing but really simple syndication.

Not only are the big companies using RSS to get ahead of the competition, smaller firms are also using it to the fullest extent. In short, the web is being connected deeply and strongly.

A More Personalized Web

Since the advent of the Internet, what every web user wished for was a more personalized web. Which now comes in the disguise of Web 2.0. Google made its home more personalized by introducing its new aggregator. RSS feeds can be added, read and tracked right from your favorite search engines home page.

Microsoft’s foray into this new market gradually happened, and it started start.com. A service which is still in beta, where you can add RSS feeds, drag them around the page, delete them right there. A classic example of Web 2.0 in action, RSS made it possible for such web honchos to tap into a huge market with a bigger potential.

RSS might not be as popular as the new X-Box. But it surely gives us a glimpse of a promising future, a much more personal and targeted web. Web 2.0 is RSS.

What are RSS Feeds, Readers and Aggregators?

February 28, 2010 by Herman Drost

Reading time: 3 – 5 minutes

An RSS feed is created in a non-HTML format called XML.
RSS readers or aggregators can interpret and display that
coding, but Web browsers can’t. Soon, RSS/XML readers
will be part of every browser and e-mail software. But for now,
you need a separate reader.

You use an RSS reader to bring new, constantly updated
material to you, from all your favorite sites. There is no need
to check whether a site has updated.

RSS feeds bring automatically updated information straight
to your desktop. You can monitor news, job listings,
personals, and classifieds. Thousands of sites now offer
feeds, which you can identify by a small orange button that
says either RSS or XML. However, if you click one of these
links, you will most likely get a page full of code in your
browser. To properly read the feed, you need an RSS reader.

Content published in an RSS feed is typically set up to
send out notifications whenever new material is available.
This makes the new content immediately available to feed
readers and RSS search engines. Contrast this with ordinary
web pages, which are essentially passive and generally
aren’t accessible to most of us until search engine
crawlers find and index them. Once indexed, these pages
stand relatively little chance of being read by web
searchers on a frequent basis.

Instead of opening your Web browser when you sit down at
the computer, you open your news feed reader, usually a 2-
or 3 paned window that allows you to see at a glance which
sites have added content, and to scan clickable headlines
and summaries of that content. Imagine looking at update
info on 10-20 sites at a single glance, and never waiting
for a single page to load!

Reading time: 2 – 3 minutes

It’s getting increasingly difficult to reach your targeted
audience these days by simply using email. Even if you have
a large ezine list there’s no guarantee your message will
be read. This is because today’s’ spam filters and
firewalls may block or delete your email before it even
reaches your intended audience. A great alternative
solution is to use RSS.

In this series of articles I will discuss:

1. What is RSS?

2. Benefits of RSS Marketing

What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. It’s a new way
for people to publish and distribute their content ie news,
headlines, newsletters, articles etc. It’s a Web content
syndication format. An RSS file is written in a simple
language called XML. It is a lot like HTML, only simpler.
An XML file contains the information (Title, Description
and Link URL) that your audience will receive through a RSS
reader.
