SEO Myth – Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is Complicated

Reading time: 4 – 6 minutes The first myth I would like to focus on regarding search engine optimization is the myth that revolves around the notion that search engine optimization (SEO) is complicated. I am always interested in the reasons people give for certain thoughts and I have heard many regarding how complicated search engine optimization (SEO) can be – especially for non-seo professionals. But I must say that I have not found this opinion to be true regarding search engine optimization. I do not feel that search engine optimization (SEO) is complicated. I know many people who have achieved great search engine rankings using SEO, including myself, and most have stated that using search engine optimization on their websites was not complicated. At times some stated that depending on what they were doing it took time to complete the SEO work; but seo being complicated – no. I tend to feel that if individuals have an average amount of computer knowledge and skills...

RSS Feeds and Search Engine Optimization

Reading time: 14 – 24 minutes In few ways RSS is pretty much identical to HTML, the language normally put in place to create websites. As is the case with HTML, webmasters opting for traditional search engine optimization techniques when creating an RSS feed will come to know that their RSS feed is getting additional exposure and interest. Below mentioned measures can go a long way in optimizing an RSS feed for search engines: 1.) First and foremost, the title should consist of pivotal search terms. In simple terms, the title should be up to the mark and not misleading, while still pinpointing keywords. In an ideal scenario, the title should generate curiosity among the readers to read on, not mislead them. 2.) Secondly, it is of utmost significance that you display RSS feeds properly. Theoretically speaking, majority of webmasters display their feeds as content on their website. Remember to use PHP, ASP or HTML when displaying a feed, as this can lead search engines to spider the...

How to Hire a Good SEO Marketer

Reading time: 8 – 12 minutes SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the art and science of making search engines rank your site high in the natural search results when someone types in a query. That’s the intent of SEO, however. Since SEO is still an emerging field, there is no “governing body”, and the rules sometimes change. A good SEO professional understands these changing rules, and knows how to properly apply them. A bad SEO specialist generally makes mistakes, or purposely tries to deceive the system to win “fake” high rankings. It is not true that you have no control over what appears in the search engines. The content that you put on your site determines where you appear in the search engine results page (SERP). If your site is about “widgets”, you’re probably not going to appear in search results about “bus fares”. The most important thing you can do on the web is to represent yourself honestly. If your site is about...

Organic SEO — What Does It Really Mean?

Reading time: 7 – 12 minutes When people refer to “organic SEO” (search engine optimization), they almost always use it as a blanket term to describe the unpaid, algorithm-driven results of any particular engine. However, a sophisticated search engine optimization company will often take the meaning of “organic” one step further. To such companies, the description of “organic SEO” is not to limited what shows up in the “natural” search engine results – it includes the methodologies used to achieve such rankings. There’s more than one way to skin a cat (although I must admit that I don’t know the one way that everyone else presumably knows), and the same is true for achieving natural search engine results. A search engine optimization company usually falls into one of two camps. A “White Hat” search engine optimization company will use a largely content-based approach and will not violate the terms of...

SEO – Choosing the Right SEO Provider to Bring Your Web Site to the Top of Google

Reading time: 6 – 9 minutes SEO, or Search Engine Optimization is the art (and science) of bringing a web site to the top of Google and other major search engines for specific keywords that you want to target. Since being on the first page and in the #1 position for your keywords always means more traffic to your web site, it is easy to see why there is such a high demand for effective SEO services today. So, what does it take for your web site to rise to the top of Google? A lot of that is dependent upon the specific industry your business is in. For example, it would be fairly easy to rank #1 in Google if you had a unique service or product that nobody else had in Branson. But if you are wanting to rank well for a keyword like “branson tickets”, it would be much more complicated, due to the sheer number of other web sites that are also trying to compete for that keyword. Just like any other “battle”, the more contestants you have playing, the tougher the...
