With a host of options that will allow you to customize the excerpts including one to let you show the latest post in its entirety and the rest in excerpt or even giving you the entire home page as full posts while the rest are excerpted. There are a couple of really good reasons for using excerpts. First it will even out how your page looks when people show up on it. For those of us who are occasionally long winded and other times not so much this is a very good thing. The second big reason to use them is it eliminates quite a bit of duplicate content which is bad for SEO. Reading time: 1 – 2 minutes WordPress 2.5 seems to be more particular than early releases to coding errors.  One possible result is the loss of sidebars and footers.  Elezend asked about this very problem on Lorelle on Wordpress, then again at Brad’s Tiny World.  Elezend’s footer which contains MyBlogLog and Blog Catalog displays just up and disappeared upon upgrading.  Personally I think upgrading on day one of any software upgrade is a bad idea, but that is from years of going WTF and looking at frozen computer screens.
